Your power is off for part of the install day, not the whole of it.
Luke pulls the permit and coordinates the inspection. You do not deal with the city.
Luke does the evaluation and the installation himself.
Luke reviews the existing equipment, condition, electrical demand, and the reason for the upgrade, then scopes the work.
Scheduling the disconnect and reconnect with the utility. This is usually the largest variable in the whole job.
Some counties issue electrical permits over the counter or online the same day.
The panel is removed and replaced in a single day. Power is off for a few hours, not the entire day.
Scheduled after the work is finished. You get the documentation for your records or your carrier.
* Your power is off for a few hours on the install day, not the whole of it, and not for the weeks leading up to it. The install itself is one day. Most of the calendar time is permit approval and utility scheduling, which sit outside our control and vary by city and by address. Ranges above are typical rather than guaranteed, and projects involving service upgrades, relocation, damaged wiring or other complications may require additional time.
Not always. Age alone does not condemn a panel, and a service upgrade is a different job from a replacement. We assess the specific equipment in front of us rather than applying a blanket claim to an entire brand, and we will tell you which one you are looking at.
Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco are notoriously problematic electrical panels often found in South OC homes. In our experience they should be replaced immediately. Both have a documented history of breakers failing to trip, which makes them a fire hazard.
Requirements vary by insurance company, property, panel manufacturer, and condition, and the requirement comes from your carrier rather than from us. Confirm exactly what they are asking for, send that over, and we will scope the work to meet it.
Part of the day rather than the whole of it. The exact window depends on the utility disconnect and reconnect, which is the part outside our control.
Someone should be there at the start and at the end. You do not need to be present for the whole install.
Yes. Luke pulls it and coordinates the inspection. You do not deal with the city.
It depends on the service size, the panel location, and what the utility requires at your address. You get a number before any work starts.
Please do not remove the panel cover or touch exposed electrical components to take a photograph. A picture of the closed panel, the label, and the breaker layout behind the door is enough.
